Range-Bound Since 8th July, Breakdown May Trigger Pain – Nifty continues to remain confined within the trading range established on 8th July, reflecting indecision and the absence of a decisive directional trigger. The prolonged consolidation suggests that both bulls and bears are awaiting a convincing breakout before committing to fresh positions. While intermittent buying has prevented a deeper decline, the index has also struggled to overcome key resistance levels, keeping momentum subdued.

A cautious opening is expected for the benchmark indices, tracking mixed cues from foreign markets. The market is likely to remain directionless through the session, with Nifty oscillating within the 24,000 to 24,200 range. A decisive breach below 24,000 could expose the index to further weakness towards 23,800, while a sustained move above 24,200 appears less likely at this juncture given the prevailing market behaviour.

Traders are advised to continue adopting a Sell-on-Rise strategy until a clearer directional signal emerges.

From a positional perspective, investors may consider utilising rallies to lighten positions until Nifty delivers a decisive close above 24,700, the core behavioural shift zone that would signal a meaningful change in market character. Conversely, a breakdown below 23,700, the interim behavioural shift zone, could open the door for a deeper and more meaningful correction. As long as 23,700 remains intact, the broader bullish structure continues to hold despite the ongoing consolidation.
