The reversal indicates that buying conviction remains tentative at higher levels, keeping the near-term trend vulnerable to further volatility.
The equity indices are set to begin the day on a flat note, despite mixed signals from overseas markets. The day’s action may remain range-bound, accompanied by stock selective movements. Nifty is likely to swing between 23200 and 23500.
Traders may continue to prefer a Sell-on-Rise strategy, while Buy-on-Dips may be considered on meaningful declines, as long as Nifty holds the September 16 range of 23284 to 23116.
From a positional perspective, the bearish undertone is likely to remain intact as long as Nifty trades below the 23700 Behavioural Shift Zone. Rallies towards this zone may continue to attract selling pressure, potentially prolonging the ongoing corrective phase.
A sustained breakout above 23700 could signal a potential shift in market behaviour. Until the index decisively reclaims this zone, volatility may persist within the broader 23000 to 23700 range. A decisive break beyond this broader range could subsequently open the way towards 22700 on the downside or 24000 on the upside.
