Pre-Market Outlook – 23.03.2026

Bear Grip Tightens
The bearish undertone in the Nifty continues to strengthen, with price action reflecting sustained selling pressure on every minor bounce. The index is struggling to reclaim key resistance zones, indicating that market participants remain cautious and inclined towards a Sell-On-Rise strategy.

As long as Nifty trades below the crucial resistance band, downside risks persist. Immediate support is seen near the recent swing lows, and a breakdown below this zone could accelerate the decline, dragging the index towards lower support levels. The lack of strong buying interest suggests that rebounds may remain short-lived and corrective in nature rather than signaling a trend reversal.

From a broader perspective, the ongoing weakness highlights a shift in sentiment from bullish optimism to defensive positioning. Traders should remain vigilant, as volatility may increase, and sharp intraday swings could become more frequent.

An another day of Gap-Down opening on benchmark indices mirroring weak trends in global equities on the back of escalated west Asia tensions.

The Nifty opening and sustaining below 22800 could rise the chances for testing 22500 even for the day. Any bounce might be restricted around 22900 followed by 23100 as its immediate capping points.

From a positional perspective, the index needs to hold above the 19th March low and reclaim 23740, backed by two consecutive closing sessions, to indicate any meaningful recovery. Failure to sustain current support levels could expose the index to deeper downside targets of 21800 to 21300.
